Willy Goellner
Sawing & Metal Cutting Specialist
Willy Goellner directs the Engineering team for Sawing Academy. He is the chairman of Advanced Machine & Engineering (AME), which he founded in 1966. AME has grown into a worldwide enterprise with two plants in the USA (AME, Hennig Inc.), three plants in Europe and joint ventures in China, Germany, England and India. Willy is the director of engineering and the research & development department at AME. He has designed many products including the original production saw, the Metalcut. He holds many patents and has written numerous articles for trade magazines. Willy continues to passionately pursue the continuous improvement of production saw systems and enjoys contributing technical educational content to Sawing Academy.
Christian Mayrhofer
Engineering Specialist
Christian is a mechanical engineer, who writes pieces of content for Sawing Academy and is a critical dialogue partner for engineering topics. He is available for theoretical questions and calculations regarding machine tools as well as for verifications and validations of results. He likes to follow a deductive approach, where equations have to be derived from fundamental principles, instead of using predefined special equations, where you won’t realize the limitations and assumptions that have been made.
Chris Rindels
Chief Engineer
Chris is a primary Mechanical Engineering contributor for Sawing Academy. He is the Chief Mechanical Engineer, for the Amsaw Product Line and Design & Build Group, where he manages all engineering responsibilities. Chris works directly with customers and the sales department to define both custom and standard machines to suit a customer’s needs. He also provides engineering support for a diverse range of other products. These experiences allow Chris to bring an immense amount of knowledge to Sawing Academy. Chris has a passion for the creative part of the design phase where he can use his 30 years of experience designing machines and equipment to develop simple and innovative solutions.
Yahya Yousif
Supporting Engineer
Yahya has a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering and is using his experiences in engineering to gather the right information and materials needed for much of Sawing Academy’s content. He helps Illustrate complex concepts by designing image layouts with different arrangements, sizes, types, and styles. He also creates the related aesthetic in images using sophisticated graphic design software. Additionally, Yahya conducts research and development by applying research theories, principles, and models. He supports all aspects of mechanical designing, which involve the use FEA to ensure that the designs and models are developed correctly and tested under a specified test condition.
Nick Goellner
Editorial Director
Nick is a thinker and a learner. His background is in machine tool technology sales and marketing. He provides editorial direction for Sawing Academy. He works to align the art of marketing communications with the science of marketing technology utilizing sales and marketing automation platforms to improve the customer experience. Nick has a passion for content marketing centered around educating the industry about manufacturing technology. He’s genuinely excited and optimistic about the future for manufacturers and he loves to travel to learn from his peers in the industry.
Meaghan Ziemba
Content Marketing Manager
Meaghan is a content marketing specialist with a B.A. and M.A. in Professional and Technical Writing. She is involved in all things communication and information for Sawing Academy—responsible for creating and editing a variety of content, building and maintaining relationships, managing social media, and overseeing the editorial calendar. When she’s not writing about engineering or manufacturing, Meaghan enjoys spending time with her family, participating in Crossfit, and consuming ridiculous amounts of coffee.
Crystal Meyer
Multimedia Content Creator
Crystal is a multi-faceted member of Sawing Academy’s team. After studying advertising at UW-Whitewater, she quickly transitioned into the manufacturing industry taking part in a range of marketing and advertising roles. It wasn’t long before she developed a passion for the art of engineering, sparking her most recent educational pursuance in mechanical engineering. With an eye for reader engagement, creative elements, and a growing technical background, Sawing Academy became a perfect fit. Currently, her roles include developing and editing images, overseeing video production, and aiding in the editorial development process.
Kaleb Mertz
Technology Specialist
Kaleb is a computer engineer for Sawing Academy and his job is to integrate technology together with the customer experience. He is responsible for website development, website design, technical search engine optimization, and other technology integrations. He is also in charge of formatting and publishing all articles on Sawing Academy. Kaleb is enthusiastic about technology and the manufacturing industry, so he loves that his job within Sawing Academy integrates both of those passions together!
Ian Storck
Video Specialist
Ian is a video production specialist who creates and edits photo and video content for Sawing Academy. He has primarily produced multimedia content for the manufacturing industry in recent years, and a majority of his projects have involved saw systems and sawing technology. Ian has a degree in Video Production, as well as a passion for creating high-quality, informative content.
