Hydraulic or Pneumatic Safety Locks
Safety Locks, similar to Safety Catchers, are used against failure of lifting members. In contrast to the Safety Catchers, they are not suitable to decelerate masses or to dissipate kinetic energy. However, since the distance to build up the holding force is very small, these units can be used for a approximate positioning tasks as well.

- Release by pressure and simultaneously upward movement of the load
